Alfred Hart (American, 1816 - 1906) oil on canvas painting, landscape with architecture.
The painting depicts an vast landscape with a dirt road extending from the bottom center towards the midground and to the horizon line. Trees dot the side of the dirt road, with a small cabin on the left in the mid ground.
Signed and dated '1906' lower right.
Presented within a fantastic carved and gilt finished frame.
Sight: 15 1/2"h x 19 1/2"w
Frame: 23 1/4"h x 27 1/4"w
Condition: Heavy craquelure throughout the painting, some creasing and areas of wear around the trim of the canvas. There is a small, approximately 1 1/2" split to the area of sky above the tree on the right hand side of the the dirt road. There is possibly restoration and in painting to the upper right quadrant and the craquelure should likely be stabilized. Despite the wear the antique painting presents nicely.
