Morgan Dennis (American, 1892-1960) was an American artist, illustrator and author whom is best known for his wonderful genre paintings of dogs. Born in Boston, Ma. and having grown up in Long Island, NY.
This wonderful genre painting depicts an interior scene with an infant baby crawling on hands and knees, crying hysterically over a bottle of spilled milk in the near ground. The baby is being harassed by four adorable dachshund puppies with two pulling the infants cover from the rear, one with its front paws raised on top of the babies back, while yet another puppy can be seen lapping the spilled milk up in the near ground. A basket flipped on its side with the contents falling out can further be seen in the background.

Presented in a carved wood frame.

Frame: 23"h x 28 1/2"w
Condition: There is wear to the painted finish around the trim edge where the painting meets the frame. Some losses and splits to the paint. Some wear to the finish of the wood frame. Overall the wear is commensurate with age but despite wear the painting presents very nicely.
