Item Description

Collection of 6 Henriot Quimper polychrome finished ceramic wares including:

- A lidded ceramic teapot embellished with a wonderfully formed stylized scroll form handle finished in blue. The lobed, tapered form body aligns with the scalloped lid with blue finished finial. The teapot is finely decorated with a traditionally dressed Breton man tending to a tall plant in the landscape to one side of the spout, while a Breton woman can be seen tending to another tall plant on the opposite side of the spout. The wonderfully formed mouth spout with foliate motifs throughout.
Marked HR Quimper to the body.

- Together with a finely potted and decorated ceramic water pot with two handles, one over the top of the mouth and one to the body opposite of the thinly potted spout. The water pot is decorated with a Breton woman in traditional attire depicted in profile between towering flowers to each side of the figure. Decorative bands of blue below the figural imagery with blue finished spout end and decoration to both handles.

- A Henriot Quimper polychrome finished dish of circular form. Traditional Breton woman in the center within a floral embellished landscape. Several blue and a yellow finished border bands surrounding the figural scene extending nearly to the rim.

- With a small creamer. Nicely potted with triangular form spout and arched handle. Standing on a circular foot with foliate motif in polychrome finish with a central Breton female in traditional attire.

- A fabulous floral form, lobed in foliate form teacup with squared form handle. The cup is delightfully decorated with a traditional Breton woman in the landscape with floral sprays around on white ground. A blue band near the mouth rim and foot with decorative blue and yellow finish to the handle.

- Lastly, with a wonderful teacup. Blue finish to the mouth rim and handle, with a Breton man in traditional attire to the center with floral and foliate motifs in polychrome hues around the body. An intriguing, painted image of an eye to the interior center.

All are late 19th century - early 20th century.

Disclaimer: All Quimper and Porquier Beau lots have wear and minor losses with glaze imperfections commensurate with age and handling. Look through the lot images carefully, these lots are being sold in As Is condition.

Condition: All display wear with the lidded teapot displaying surface wear and glaze imperfections along with nics and losses to the glazed finish. The lid is held in place with tack but could easily be removed if desired.
The floral form teacup with heavier wear to the finish at trim and possible old restoration to the interior which has a slightly pink hue to the white glaze. There is a hairline fracture to the interior.
Wear and losses to the glazed finish with crazing to all.
Despite wear the lot presents well overall.
