The fabulous sculpture being offered was made by the artist known as Erte, or Romain De Tirtoff (Russian-French, 1892-1990). Erte’s artistic sense is derived with his fascination and employment within theatrical design.
Erte is often mentioned as one of the founders of the Art Deco aesthetic.
The current sculpture titled "Joie De Vivre" is derived from the artists vast experience with costume design, and more specifically with the Chicago Opera Company.
The sculpture depicting a female dressed in a fabulously colored gown appearing to move in the wind. The gown is fabulously embellished with embossed swirl pattern.
Furthermore the female figure has a raised arm where the gilt embellished adornment depicting butterflies affixes to her raised hand.
