Item Description
An exceptional set of 2 Porquier Beau Quimper polychrome finished tulip vases.
Including:
- One Porquier Beau Quimper Mariés de Ploaré ceramic tulip vase.
Circa 1875-1904.
Marked PB, Mariés de Ploaré underfoot in underglaze blue.
6 5/8"H x 6 1/2"Dia.
- Together with a Porquier Beau Quimper Maries de Tregunc ceramic tulip vase.
Circa 1875-1903. Marked underfoot in underglaze blue: PB, Maries de Tregunc.
6 5/8"H x 6 1/2"Dia.
Both vases are hand painted in tulip form with foliate formed, scalloped mouth rims and stand on three petal form feet. The vases are hand decorated with foliate motif throughout, featuring figural cartouche with a traditional Breton couple on front and fabulous botanical cartouche on verso.

Disclaimer: All Quimper and Porquier Beau lots have wear and minor losses with glaze imperfections commensurate with age and handling. Look through the lot images carefully, these lots are being sold in As Is condition.
Condition Report: There is wear to the painted finish in places with small chips to rims with minimal losses. Scattered glaze imperfections with minor restoration including a chip to mouth rim petal with subtle inpainting. Minor chips to one of the feet.
Despite some wear these vases are masterfully crafted and present exceptionally well as highlights within the Quimper ouevre.
