A fine HB Quimper polychrome finished ceramic serving dish. Oval in form with barbed and scalloped trim. There is a blue finished trim band around the central scene with is delightfully decorated with a seated Breton man playing the bagpipe along with a Breton woman, both dressed in traditional attire. The male figure playing the bagpipe is seated on rockery and the couple is presented in an outdoor landscape with a fence and trees and foliage.
On the left hand side is a fabulous chrysanthemum with one open flower and two buds beginning to open on leafy stalk. Surrounding the scene, just within the trim band can be seen three insects.
Marked HB Quimper to the bottom trim.

Condition: Some wear to the finish with glaze losses and nics to the trim which can be seen all around. Despite wear the the serving dish presents very well overall.
