Marked with a label underfoot denoting the original purchase price of $6,500, together with a label denoting the item having a Rare form and border.
The HB Quimper two handled ceramic serving platter features fabulous form and polychrome decorative motifs including a central figural scene.
The serving platter has two handles, one at either end. There is polychromatic foliage with berries embellishment on the white ground handles. The fabulously stylized, scalloped trim has a blue finish to the trim. A decorative border with criss crossed green motif with red hued lines with numerous blue finished trefoil leaf reserves to the criss crossed border. Underneath the border band is a yellow and blue finished scrolling motif which surrounds the central scene.
The central scene with three Breton male and female couples depicted dancing in the landscape with two Breton musicians serenading the dancing couples. All figures are dressed in traditional Breton attire.
Marked HB in underglaze blue to the underside along with the two labels which were discussed above.

Condition: The serving platter stands on an octagonal foot ring which has two pierced holes in case one wanted to string and hang on the wall. The serving platter has some wear to the finish and glaze chips and wear but overall the serving platter is in good form and presents exceptionally well.
