This handsome collection of two Quimper polychrome finished ceramic barrel form kegs with wooden spigots and set on wooden stands includes:
- The smaller of the two is wonderfully finished and potted in barrel form with floral motifs to the center and top. The top aperture with a blue finished ceramic topped cork plug.
Presented on a carved and crafted wooden stand.
Marked to the body Henriot Quimper / 117.
4 3/4"H x 5 1/2"L of ceramic keg.
- The larger of the kets is also wonderfully decorated and potted in the form of a barrel form keg. There are blue bands across the body with polychromatic foliate motif in bands with a wonderfully painted figural image to the front, above the spigot. The figural image depicts a Breton man in traditional attire with towering flowers flanking the figure seen in profile.
The larger is marked HB Quimper / 1.088 / P.12 to the body.
Presented on a carved and crafted wood stand.
5 7/8"H x 6"L of ceramic keg.
Disclaimer: All Quimper and Porquier Beau lots have wear and minor losses with glaze imperfections commensurate with age and handling. Look through the lot images carefully, these lots are being sold in As Is condition.
Condition: Both with some surface wear and wear to the glazed finish. The smaller keg has had some rubbing to the signed part with the blue having smudged some. The connections from the spigots and corks are loose but despite any wear this pair is fun and sure to please.
