Rolex Vintage 36mm Datejust 1601, "Big Logo" Jubilee Bracelet, Circa 1973, With Box

Rolex Datejust. This magnificent vintage Rolex Datejust is model 1601, a 36 mm watch with a stainless steel case, white gold fluted bezel, silver linen pie pan dial (the beveled flanges of the dial resemble an inverted pie pan), with silver stick markers, and a date.
The 1601 has an automatic, non quickset movement, which means that in order to set the date, you must unscrew the crown and bring the time around continuously (this changes the date manually), until you reach the day before your desired date - at which point youw will move the hands until the time passes midnight, when correct date will appear in the window. You will then bring the hands to the current am/pm and time.
The watch is displayed on a vintage USA "big logo" jubilee bracelet, made for Rolex in the United States by J.B. Champion, and has 21 links and a foldover clasp, which features seven adjustment settings.
The reason the bracelet was made by a subcontractor is becasue Rolex, amongst many other foreign watch companies from the late 60's to the late 70's, exported the heads only of the watches into the US, and had the bracelets made here, assembling the finished watches domestically. By doing that, they avoid the taxes on "complete watches" coming into the country at that time.
The watch was made circa 1973, and is accompanied by an inner and Rolex outer box, Datejust instruction booklet, chronometer booklet, and green Rolex leather wallet. The Rolex box, paperwork and wallet are genuine, but not necessary original to this watch.

Condition: Chip to the acrylic crystal, scratches to the watch, bracelet is stretched, watch is running. The movement has not been looked at so the assumption is that it is original to the watch (not confirmed) and in need of service. Overall condition and wear is commensurate with age
