Item Description
An original oil on canvas painting, commissioned by Lee Armstrong -- "Silver Tea Service On Chest" by Elizabeth Moretz-Britt. The painting is presented in an ornate gilt-wood frame displayed openly with an overhead light fixture in brass.
Elizabeth has been painting in the Augusta, GA area for over 30 years. She holds a BFA in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia and attended Queens College in Charlotte and Scottsdale Artists School. Elizabeth is a member of About Face at the Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, SC, the Arts and Heritage Center, and the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art.
She was juried into the Art Fields Portrait Competition three times at Lake City and had studied in France and Italy, traveling with the Art Aboard Program at Augusta College. Her work is influenced by Jim Herbert and Milt Kobayashi as well as the impressionist and Fauvist painters of the 20th century. Although known for her strong figurative drawing, she likes to explore non-representational abstract and landscapes. Elizabeth resides in North Augusta and her recent work can be seen at Art on Broad.
